It also means sweetheart. Both meanings live inside every bag.
Born from a bud on the coffee plant.
Kabiite began as a whispered name — beloved — passed between women in the hills of Uganda. It became a house of coffee because coffee has always been what we offer when we mean I see you.
We source our beans from small Ugandan cooperatives, roast them in small batches each week, and finish every bag by hand with letterpress. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is loud. Every offering carries the softness of the name it wears.
Every basket is a hand held.
Our baskets are woven by the women of home — from raffia grown, dyed with natural pigments, and coiled into shape over weeks. Each pattern is a signature. Each basket, a story.
We work directly with the artisans, at prices set by them. When you bring a basket into your home, you are bringing the hands that made it — and returning the care to the makers.
